Famed Broadway and Movie Actress Natasha Richardson has Died from Ski Injury
A sad day on Broadway!
Natasha Richardson has died at only 45 years old of a head injury caused by a ski accident. Natasha and her family were in Montreal, Canada yesterday at a ski resort.
Natasha Richardson was learning how to ski on the beginners trails when she took a tumble but seemed fine. She was talking and laughing immediately after the accident, but later that day she complained of a headache. The resort took her to a local hospital, but she was later transfered to Lenox Hill in the Upper East Side of New York City.
Her husband, actor Liam Neeson, her two teen sons, her mother, and her sister all arrived at the hospital shortly after to be at her side. Natasha Richardson was listed in critical condition and died shortly after. the family decided to take her off life support on Wednesday afternoon.
A spokes person for the family said, “Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”
Tonight at 8:00 PM, the marquee lights of Broadway will be dimmed in tribute to Natasha Richardson. A funeral is pending and will more than likely be private.
