Obama Takes Oath for the Second Time
Obama Takes Oath for the Second Time
Barack Obama was sworn in for a second time into the presidency spot due to a jumble of words on Tuesday. The presidential oath of office to Barack Obama was administered by Chief Justice John Roberts on Tuesday, but Roberts jumbled up his lines a bit. This made Barack Obama, our new Commander-in-Chief, repeat the wording differently from how it reads in the Constitution. The President and Chief Justice John Roberts performed the redo on Wednesday night, JUST IN CASE, in the Map Room of the White House.
Greg Craig, the White House Counsel, released a statement about the ceremony that read, “We believe that the oath of office was administered effectively and that the President was sworn in appropriately yesterday. But the oath appears in the Constitution itself. And out of an abundance of caution, because there was one word out of sequence, Chief Justice Roberts administered the oath a second time.”
