Patrick Swayze, The Truth
Patrick Swayze, The Truth
Patrick Swayze is going on the air tonight to discuss his life and where it’s heading. Barbara Walter is interviewing Swayze on the ABC special, “Patrick Swayze: The Truth.” Swayze was diagnosed last year with pancreatic cancer and has stated that he may only have a couple of years to live. He was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in January 2008 and the cancer had already spread to his liver.
Patrick Swayze is only 56 and has surpassed the survival rate for this type of cancer. The American Cancer Society has said that the majority of people die within six months.
Swayze states, “I should have been dead a long time ago.” He continues to smoke even though he has cut back. He is hopeful and denies the rumors of him being on his death bed. He says, “I want to last until they find a cure, which means I’d better get a fire under it.”
Barbara Walters’ interview will air tonight at 10:00 p.m. on ABC.
