Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree

Published by jewels under Events / News Edit This

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree

The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is a fairly new tradition for myself. I moved to the city 4 years ago and have been going to visit the tree every year since then. The Christmas tree tradition began in 1933.

Last night I ventured out, even though it started to drizzle a little, to see this beautiful a magnificent tree. I consider myself very lucky to be able to be apart of this holiday tradition.

This years tree was even bigger and more beautiful then last years. The lights seemed brighter as well. The plaza facing towards the tree was occupied by the traditional horn-blowing angels. Across the way at Saks Fifth Avenue, the blue snow flakes decorate the side of the building while sparkly to holiday songs over a loud speaker.

The crowds of people surrounded the tree site and waited in lines to take a picture with santa or to go ice skating in the rink below. It was another year that the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree brought the crowds and the holiday cheer.
