Bush Gets The Shoe
President George W. Bush, during a press conference in Baghdad was almost hit in the head by a pair of shoes. An Iraqi reporter called the president a “dog” in Arabic, took off his shoes, and belted them at Bush. The reporter was tackled and taken out of the room by U.S. Secret Service. President Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki continued on with the conference. other reporters apologized to the President for their colleagues actions.
President George W. Bush said when asked about the event, “It doesn’t bother me. I didn’t feel the least threatened by it.” Bush went to Baghdad for the weekend for his last visit before Barack Obama takes over the presidency in January.
