Twilight Director is Out!
Catherine Hardwicke, the director of the film “Twilight,” announced that she will not be returning to direct the films sequel “New Moon.” Summit Entertainment released a statement saying that Hardwicke would not direct the film. The sequel is scheduled to be released in late 2009 or early 2010. Hardwicke directed other films such as “Thirteen” in 2003 and the religious film “The Nativity Story.”
Catherine Hardwicke said that the time frame is the reason why she will not be directing. “I am sorry that due to timing I will not have the opportunity to direct ‘New Moon. Directing ‘Twilight’ has been one of the great experiences of my life, and I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support of the film. I wish everyone at Summit the best with the sequel — it is a great story.”
This is the second novel in the “Twilight” series written by author Stephenie Meyer.
