Thirsty Buffalo Restaurant
Thirsty Buffalo Restaurant
If your from the Buffalo, NY area; you will remember the very popular and very good restaurant called Jimmy Mac’s. This restaurant had a great corner location on Elmwood with a window room that could be opened in the summer months. It was a definite favorite with many Buffalo natives, including me, so when the restaurant closed it was disappointing.
A new restaurant finally opened this past weekend on October 28, 08 in that location by the same owner as Jimmy Mac’s. After months of remodeling, the Thirsty Buffalo opened and a crowd of people followed. Since I was in town for this opening, I decided to give it a try. The restaurant had the same welcoming and fun environment feeling of Jimmy Mac’s, with the very large bar that stretched from end to end. My party sat in the window room, and watched the Sabres game on one of the many flat screen TV’s.
The service started out great, we ordered and received our drinks. The restaurant just opened so of course they have to get their act still organized and together. The food took an hour to come and when it did, everyone received their meals but me. It took an extra half hour for mine to come and all I order was a wrap, plus every one else at my table already finished eating. I over heard other tables as well complaining about how long it took, but I will say once my food came it was really good.
I would go back to the Thirsty Buffalo because the atmosphere was fun, the drinks were good, and the food was great even though it took an hour and a half to get it. Over all this was a good restaurant and I think once they get a flow going the service will get better. If your in the Buffalo, NY area check out the Thirsty Buffalo on Elmwood. The food was great!
